For surveys in several languages

One survey, every respondent in their own language

Write your survey once. Pulseform translates it into the languages you choose, you review and approve each one, and respondents pick their language on the public link or in the Collect app. Every answer is saved in the survey's original language, so your results stay in one place.

The free trial allows up to 100 responses per survey or form. For a larger sample, choose a paid plan.

How multilingual surveys work

1

Five languages

Offer your survey's questions in Arabic, English, French, Turkish and Russian. You choose which ones, and which language respondents see first.

2

Nothing shown before you approve it

Translation is automatic, but no respondent sees a language until you approve it. You review each text next to its original and correct it before approving.

3

Your corrections are kept

After you edit the survey, only new or changed texts are translated again, and wording you corrected is not overwritten. A language with new text is hidden again until you re-approve it.

4

On the public link

The survey opens in your default language, with a language button when more than one is approved. Switching keeps the answers already filled in.

5

In the Collect app

A collector can use the app in Arabic while interviewing someone in French: the app language and the survey language are chosen separately.

6

Results in one language

Whatever language a respondent reads, the answer is saved in the survey's original language, so answers from every language are counted, compared and exported together.

Translate a survey in three steps

  1. 1 Finish your questions, open the survey's Settings, turn on translation and tick the languages.
  2. 2 Click Translate now; translation runs in the background.
  3. 3 Review each language next to the original, correct it, and approve it. Respondents can choose it from then on.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. A translated language stays hidden until you approve it, and it is hidden again whenever new text is translated, until you re-approve.
No. Answers are saved in the survey's original language, so charts and exports never mix languages.
Yes. When more than one language is approved, collectors choose the survey language on the Start new form tab. Changing it needs a connection, so they choose it before going to the field.
Translation uses a shared daily allowance. If it runs out partway through, what was done is kept and the rest can be translated later.
